On a Moonless Night
visual art, installation
On a Moonless Night is visual tale of wind, water and wings, opening a world between sky and sea. Its images unfold in sequence, following the descent of an angel into the world it comes to embrace.

Set in the symbols of primordial waters, each scene holds a vanishing: a trace of evaporation, a sign of disappearance. Lives emerge and pass, and we witness their transformation.
On a Moonless Night grew from a long research into the iconography of living worlds, blending personal photography with digital collage. Surrealism seeps into scientific and museographic imagery. Minerals, flora and fauna blur into one another, kin, interconnected.

First exhibited in Marseille, the work existed through images before slowly becoming an oral tale — shifting shape each time it was shared with visitors. It is now taking the form of a publication: printed images and a story written in fragments of the oral tale it became, its completion left open to whoever leafs through it.
